Mark Allen

Mark Allen is the founding member of ShakyJake, and formed the original lineup in 1998. He and has worked with many well-known local and national artists including The Mustard Seeds, The Replacements, Soul Asylum, The Suburbs, Honey Dogs, and even new-age master, Yanni, all the while continuing to create his own scene around the Minnesota music circuit. As a lead vocalist, front man, rhythm guitar and harmonica player, Mark is truly a cut-above-the-rest around the Minneapolis music scene. His talent shines at every acoustic show and simply commands your attention at every ShakyJake performance. When not on stage, Mark operates his own publishing company, Mustard Music, LLC, and he likes to support the local music scene he has championed throughout his career as a member of the Minnesota Music Academy. In addition to ShakyJake’s performance schedule, he also continues to write, record, and release his own original music, as well as his collaborative efforts with other artists.
Outside of music, Mark actively supports the Special Olympics Foundation, and is focused on research and outreach programs for children with Autism and other disabilities.

Eric began playing drums at the age of five, and has been playing on a serious level ever since. He is well educated in music, and is comfortable in any musical style and situation. Eric is best recognized for his efforts with Major Label Recording Artist "EQUINOX" (signed to JVC/Victor). Equinox was a progressive rock band (ala Rush, Yes, Styx, Kansas, Dream Theater) that still receives airplay in over 50 countries, and their albums have hit the Top 20 and Top 40 charts in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Eric has received Gold and Platinum music awards from across the globe, and works as a studio session drummer - recording everything from radio and TV commercials, to demo and full-length albums with the industry's top recording artists.
In addition to Eric's musical career, he is an avid Martial Artist that has been an instructor for more than 15 years. He is also an amateur magician, and collects ancient weaponry (mostly swords) and horror memorabilia.
